Do we really need the moon?

Do We Really Need the Moon?

Of course we do. Many people may not be aware of why the moon is important to us here on earth. The moon stabilizes the rotation of the earth, its gravity has the effect of the slowing down the earth's rotation. Moon dictates the length of  the day, the rhythm of the seasons and the very stability of our planet. Without the moon, the earth's rotation will be faster, then the day on the earth would be much shorter; only 6 to 8 hours. Thus,  shorter days would result in a substantial drop in the temperature on earth because there would be less time for the sun to heat the earth which in turn would have a big impact on food production. Without the moon, the earth's axis would be straight up and down, making night and day equally long, year round, and there would be no seasons. There would be periods with more extreme weather, and big differences between winter and summer and finally nights would be much, much darker than we are used to.

  2. Thanks for sharing such information! This probably shows the greatness of Allah and how everything he created is based on some of his wisdom, whether we recognize that wisdom now or we don't.
