Benefits Of Group Work
Working with others rather than on your own can provide distinct benefits. First of all, collaborating with others will help you know more about your self which means that you will able to identify your own strengths and weaknesses (for example, you might be good at coming up with "big ideas" but not so good at putting them into action). Another benefit of group work is the increase in productivity and performance as well as in efficiency. Groups that work well together can achieve much more and more quickly with greater efficiency than the individuals working on their own. In addition, group work helps in developing interpersonal skills (listening and speaking) as well as team working skills(leadership, motivating others,...) also it encourages the development of critical thinking skills. Moreover, group work improves relation ships between team members especially that people from diverse backgrounds come together to form the groups so group work helps them know each other well, accept and support each other. Finally, group work makes the unit of study challenging, interesting, engaging and fun.

"Cooperative is a group work but not all group work is cooperative". We should understand that all the member in the group should work and help each other ( interdependent), not one person work and the other did not even come to the group to ask if the group needs help.
ReplyDeleteCooperative learning also emphasizes the social skills in which you can teach your students for maximum 3 social skills because teaching such things is very hard. So by implementing cooperative learning you will make this task easier. For example you teach students to listen to each other and to depend on themselves, and help each other’s.
